These roundish stud earrings feature sparkly fordite bezel set in sterling silver and finished with silver posts and scrolls. The fordite is predominately white with broad bands of red, blue and black, the colours (but not the white) all sparkle. They measure 12mm across and are roundish, the shape of the rough material means that one of them has a dimple and flat patch on one side. Fordite is lightweight so comfortable to wear all day.
Not come across fordite before? It is layers of cured paint that builds up in spray booths at vehicle factories where the paint misses the panel it is meant for, as painting technology improves less fordite is formed. This over spray builds up getting baked in between each layer giving a hard material which can be cut and polished to show the colours. This material is from the Ford plant in Dearborn when they were making F-150 pick up trucks, I bought the rough in about 2015. Love the idea of fordite but want something else - drop me a message, I have a stash of rough from a number of different factories and since I cut and polish it myself I should be able to make what you want.
Measures 12mm diameter and comes in a gift box.
