About this item
A pretty patchwork quilt constructed from “flying geese” pieced units joined into three rows using a pale pink check cotton with small heart motifs and a white self-patterned cotton. A plain white cotton has been used for sashes in between the rows as well as top and bottom. A 3” (8cm) border of pink check cotton has been added on all sides and the pale blue spot double thickness hand finished binding picks out the pale blue colour in the check fabric. The backing of the quilt has been made in plain white cotton and a lightweight polyester wadding has been used between the layers. A pale pink embroidery stitch has been used to quilt along each side of the white sashes for extra embellishment. Could be used as a cot quilt, in a baby carrier or buggy or may even appeal to a little girl for that extra special dolly. Would also make a special gift for a new baby or an addition to the nursery decor at home. Measurements: W: 26.5”(67cm) x L: 38”(97cm)

Flying Geese is a favourite patchwork pattern to work with. Although this quilt features only straight rows, the “geese” can be joined together in so many ways to give different effects.
