Dainty stretch bracelet of 4mm banded Agate and 4mm creamy Freshwater Potato Pearls. The striped Agate are highly polished and semi-opaque, with a slightly milky appearance. They range in colour from light brown, to pinky-brown, to pale grey with a hint of mauve, and some show subtle bands of darker brown. The Freshwater Pearls are a soft peachy cream with a lovely lustre and add shine. The bracelet is finished with an 8mm striped Agate donut bracketed by Pearls. Agate is a form of Chalcedony, part of the Quartz family, and gets its name from the River Achates, in Sicily, where it was first found. It is one of the oldest known minerals, used by the ancient Sumerians and Egyptians for ornaments and amulets. I love the patterns and subtle, neutral tones to these beads.
