About this item
This brooch has been made from scraps of vintage cotton fabric. This has been decorated with scraps of fabric, kantha-stitched to the cotton base. A piece of lace was then added on top with embroidered flowers cut from a damaged handkerchief. The oval shape is highlighted with a ring of blue chain-stitch around the embroidery. The brooch is edged in beaded blanket stitch. There's brooch pin on the back for attaching the brooch to clothing etc. The brooch measures approximately 5.5cm (2.25in) at its widest and 7cm (3.75in) at its tallest.
