All finds personally collected from river banks, recycle shops, beaches, wherever dropped, lost or donated. Ceramics are found, cleaned and shaped into new stories. Every piece is individual, nothing replicated, however, due to repetitive patterns there will be some similarity but only through the ceramic material not in the final piece. Ceramic will show marks, scratches and imperfections, all part of its history and journey.

In August 2020 I bought a box of mismatched ceramics from a charity shop in Darlington. It was filled with odds and ends, broken decorative wall plates, tea set and mugs.
Some of the wall plates celebrate home and animals so decided to create a collection based on this theme.
This decoration/ornament shows a lovely Border Collie dog looking to the left, towards a figure. I wasn't able to include the person due to damage but actually prefer just the dog.
Back and sides hand polished and sealed with Eco Friendly Matt Sealant. Front glaze intact but has a 'v' shaped scratch near the tail, only noticeable when the light catches it.
The idea is to create something new from old and use recycled materials to produce unique jewellery. The finished piece isn't meant to be perfect but instead retain part of the original character, including marks and scratches, all part of the history of the ceramic and materials used.
Measures 35mm x 35mm x 3mm.
Hanging on 50cm long repurposed black ribbon.
Delivered in gift box made from FSC®-certified cardboard and water-based glue. Presented on Jewellery box insert made from tall oil, a by-product of paper production. Sustainable gifts, complete with short bio and gift bag.
