About this item
I have made this pendant by building up layers of glass enamel over the copper tortoise shape. I need several layers of a base coat, in this case clear enamel, over which I can then apply coloured layers. In this case the coloured layer is black. While the black coat was melting, in the kiln, I used a steel point to disturb the surface, exposing the clear enamel and bringing the copper base into view to show the patterning of a tortoise's shell, The pendant is mounted on a silverplated 18" (45cm) chain that fastens with a bolt ring. Your pendant will be sent, boxed as shown, by Royal Mail, tracked 48.
