I am fascinated by butterflies.

What do butterflies symbolize?
The butterfly has been a symbol of transformation, hope and faith for thousands of years. The butterfly is also a symbol of rebirth, since it goes through so many life cycles -- from larva to caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to a beautiful, flying butterfly.

Full description

My round hand painted butterfly dish is perfect for keeping precious keepsakes, rings or your favourite piece of jewellery or crystals safe.

Native Americans have considered butterflies as symbols of transformation, hope, and rebirth. In Chinese culture, the symbolism of butterflies evokes the qualities of freedom, earthly beauty, love, and the human soul. They have inspired humans for millennia with their delicate nature and the immense power they possess.

This handcrafted ceramic dish has been created using the slab-work method and embossed with a butterfly design before shaping into a mould. Once dried it has been bisque fired to 1000C and hand-painted with a coloured glaze and a clear glaze has been added. After glazing it has had a second firing in the kiln to 1080C.

Approximate size: 10 cm Dia x 2.00cm H

Due to the handmade nature and natural materials each piece is unique with subtle variations in size, shape, and finish.

Self-adhesive cork has been applied to the base to protect surfaces.
