Classic Car Themed Table Lamp, Ideal Car Enthusiast Bedside Light

Add some automobilia style to your home, a classic car themed table lamp based on a 1970s period aftermarket performance air filter with a vintage metal RAC badge as a touch switch, it would make an ideal bedside lamp. I have cleaned the NOS chrome air filter, which does have a few marks as evidence of many years on a motor factor’s shelf, and mounted it on a 1-inch (25mm) diameter chrome tube leg. The leg is bolted to a French polished wooden base, made from two pieces of old floorboard, which houses a touch dimmer unit which is activated by touching a vintage metal RAC badge; touch once to switch on dim lighting, touch again to brighten, touch a third time to full brightness and a fourth to switch off – see the video. Power is supplied through 2 metres of black fabric braided flex fitted with a black 3-amp fused UK plug.
