"Carnelian is a Talisman It brings good luck to child and man" So wrote Goethe in his poem 'Pledges of Blessing. This warm, orange-red stone is a variety of Chalcedony, a member of the Quartz family. Used as an adornment by man for over 4,500 years, this stone has come to symbolise health, luck and royalty. It was prescribed by ancient healers to 'invigorate the blood'.
