The Ultimate Makers Apron is meticulously designed professional workwear for craftspeople, fine artists and sculptors. The first Ultimate Makers Apron was designed for my artist/prop-maker daughter who uses modeling materials, paint, electric and manual tools - so it had to feel comfortable and secure whether working seated or standing in the studio. The original 'ultimate makers apron' was designed for my daughter when she was at art college. Her work involves multiple disciplines using modelling clay, fine art painting, electric tools, manual saws, textile manipulation - so the apron had to be very easy to move around in whether sitting at a work bench or standing, it also needed sturdy fabric, good coverage and handy pockets for small tools and attachments. 7 years later her bright yellow apron is still going strong with a growing patina of paintwork on the front. Working in my studio in hilly-leafy South-East London, I make aprons in small batches using cotton canvas, denim or drill - fabrics that are natural, washable and durable. Careful attention to detail, strength of construction and beautiful stitching result in a quality of finish simply not possible in mass production. I cut fabric economically, minimising waste and saving the small remnants to make one-of-a-kind bags for my ‘Boro Collection’.

I already had a lovely bespoke apron for my silversmithing, but I've used that one a decade and it's got a bit baggy. This new one is fabulous. It's really sturdy yet soft denim and 100 denim, so it won't stretch nor be a fire risk The pocket has already rescued a gemstone for me.
