About this item
I have scrolled dark pink and white enamel over a dark blue base coat to make this delicate butterfly brooch. Depending on the play of light the dark blue shows black to iridescent royal blue. The white and pink are almost fugitive. The butterfly shape measures 31mm by 21mm at its widest and deepest points. It is mounted on a 20mm brooch bar, which I have soldered to the copper base. The pin fastens with a safety catch. Your brooch will be sent boxed, as shown, by Royal Mail tracked48.

Butterflies are a tempting subject for the enamel scrollwork that I do. It suggests the fluid patterning of butterfly wings in flight. The shimmer of light reflecting from the piece captures, to some extent, the movement of the wings. I do not attempt realistic representation of any species, just the suggestion of a butterfly.
