I often use texture mats to apply a particular texture to an item I am making, but usually restricting it to one pattern. I could have done so with this pendant but due to its oval shape, I felt that a varied multiple pattern would look rather lovely. The difference in height of each of the aspects of the patterns and the lower detail all combine to give light a variable surface on which to play and highlight.
