This bookmark is stitched from a careful selection of recycled and leftover fabrics and embroidered with a bold ship motif and some seapink flowers.
Torn strips of fabric have been machine stitched to a panel of vintage, unused flannelette sheeting. A sailboat has been hand embroidered in cotton threads, its sail being cut from a scrap of white felt. Some seapink flowers line the shoreline. Iron-on interfacing has been applied to the back of the panel which has then been edged with blanket-stitch using a white cotton thread. The bookmark is backed with 'eco' felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles. Ribbon tails complete the design.
Length of embroidered panel - 16 cm approx.
Total length - 22.5 cm approx.
