The scrolling technique lends itself well to decorating the parrot shape. My inspiration for the parrot shape was doing craft fairs in the bird garden at Lotherton Hall, Leeds.

This blue parrot has a scrolled pattern in pink and white drawn through it. This is done by pulling a steel tip through the enamel while it is red hot in the kiln. An extreme version of feather icing.
The parrot measures 54mm from head to tail, 15mm across its shoulders.
The parrot is counter enamelled. It is mounted on silver plate 45cm (18 inch) curb chain fastened with a simple bolt ring.
