Welcome To The Magical Colourful World Of The Fae Quirkles Straight Out Of My Imagination

Hi There.

I am a Full-Time Artist who lives in the City Of Kingston Upon Hull. City Of Culture 2017.My Little Cosy Studio overlooks our garden and is separate from our Living Room. Our Household is an ultimate busy one with three young adults. One extremely lovely husband and our little adorable ragdoll cat who we named Majick.

The Fae Quirkles created Myself in the Summer of 2016 when they literally started appearing all over my sketch books. The few years previous to this, the same happened with the Fae Quirkettes. Those are the two families I look after in The Fairy Realm. They are forever whispering to me, create me, create me.

This Modern World is far too automated. We should all be striving for a more pure way of living. Myself, anything to do with Magic, spirituality, the paranormal, ancient places, travel, vintage, art and creativity will sure light up my soul. I adore creative people. People who have a story to tell and have embarked on a journey.

Art is at the top of my tree, then creativity, my marriage and our gang. This includes our 9 year old furry baby.

Klimt and Hockney inspire me. I love the way that Klimt would use patterns in his work, was sympathetic to the beauty of the female form. I also love his choice of colours. The way his art would always tell a story. Hockney I love his landscapes. I purely become truly lost in them, the colour, the childlike magic...

My Symbolic Face Art became more profound after My Dad died of cancer in 2007. It was then that I started to write a lot of poetry and set my canvas art to words. In the Summer of 2008 I lost My Mum to dementia. Again, my art and writing helped me to move through my grief of two incredible parents, who always told Myself and My Twin and My Elder Sister that we was all special, we was chosen. We was adopted in 1966.

The Mediums that I create with are acrylic and water colour paints, watercolour pencils, colour pencils, pencils, sharpie and pro marker pens. I use good quality paper and canvas.

I create everyday and always have new smaller creative journeys to embark upon through my art. My husband always laughs, in a lovely way, saying that I am married to my art. He is correct. Thank you Phil, for your never ending loving support. To which I shall forever be grateful.

Apart from my top three categories, sometimes I will sketch. More often than not these sketches are again straight out of my imagination. However, some days I will tip into realism and decide to sketch this way from photographs, famous faces etc. This is the only time I will use photographs. Truly sporadic.

98% of my work is original and straight from my imagination. With the remaining 2% within the realms of realism.

I am Artistic, Creative, love vintage. Proud Vegetarian. With a lovely sunny outlook on life. People ARE special to me. The ones that are already here and the ones that are still to arrive.

It is far more important to shine your light rather than switch it off. Not in a Showcase Way, in a humble way. I find this way, I can reach my higher self.
