Hi , my name is Tanya and I love to create. Until moving house in 2017, I worked in a school for 16yrs .A large portion of my job included designing fun interactive displays, making props for plays and classroom use, and making the role play areas for the children. Many times my house was taken over by some school project or another, from 6ft cardboard rockets to underwater scenery spread around the room. When I was not making things for the school, I would be crafting with the children or creating gifts from painting cards to making rugs. I was first introduced to Macramé in the early 80's in the Girls Brigade. I made my very first hanging basket and some pretty keyrings!
The art of macramé went out of fashion after the 80's and it was hard to find any books or craft kits.
Then with it's return to fashion I was bought a small macramé set in 2018 and I fell in love with the art. I love that macramé is so versatile. There are so many different things you can make, some are useful like the handbags and some are decorative like the wall hangings. I mostly enjoy making 3 dimensional artwork like vases of flowers and macrame ornaments.
I have 3 cats and as cats and string are not always a good combination, I have a separate room to work in away from stray paws.
I set up this shop because I have found something I really enjoy doing and hopefully I can share that with you.
