Fibre artist Nikki Woollatt painstakingly needlefelts raw wool into sculptures from her converted mill home in the heart of Devon. Her work is mostly inspired by wildlife and pets with the odd bit of whimsical creeping in from time to time!

Buying from me

Needle felting is the process of interlocking fibres by piercing tufts of raw wool with a very sharp barbed needle. The barbs catch the scales on the fibre and cause them to tangle and bind together. Creating a 3D sculpture can take many hours of work and literally thousands of stabs from start to finish.
