Hello and welcome! I'm Catherine, born and brought up in the Lake District with a love of mountains, quiet spaces and wild places.
I've made birthday cards for family and friends for as long as I can remember, starting out under the guidance of my mum with piles of scrap paper and vast arrays of felt-tips. I like to think that things have become a little more sophisticated since then but I still find the whole process of card making hugely exciting, starting out with that smooth blank page and seeing where the pen takes you. There is something magical in these days of social media and instant communication about popping a hand-made card in the post box and waiting excitedly for the joy that it will bring that special person.
My current designs are inspired by 6 years of living in Scotland and escaping to the Highlands at every opportunity. I draw in ink pen using my own photographs and memories and use these sketches to create prints. The entire making process is done in my own home and I will always endeavour to keep it as environmentally sustainable as possible, using 100% recycled card and 100% renewable electricity.
I recently moved to Cornwall (trying out a bit of sunshine) so watch this space for a new coastal series coming in the New Year.
