I am a BA Hons Illustration graduate. During my final year I started experimenting with applying my illustrations to different materials and items; fabric, plushies, temporary tattoos, paper sculptures, and shrink plastic to name a few. I found the shrink plastic process to be quite addictive, and by the time I graduated I was making and selling shrink plastic jewellery.
A couple of years went by, and I was tiring of having burned fingers and scars on my hands where the scissors would rub, and the late nights spent hogging the family oven when I wouldn't be interrupted by the need to make dinner. I decided it was time to up my game and I shifted into printed wood and acrylic charms.
Fast forward another year and I bought my own laser cutter, and started selling a range of hand painted designs. 6 months later I've bought my own flatbed printer so I can kiss goodbye to days spent painting and instead print my illustrations directly onto wood and acrylic, resulting in a more consistent product with a higher level of detail, and also allowing me to actually have free time again!
I'm very excited for this new chapter of my business. Let's hope it goes well.
