Ideal for a colourful start to the day, this twin blade razor will brighten any morning!
The long glass handle on this razor (67mm for just the glass) has my own colourful take on 'tortoiseshelling' or marble effect. There are lots of bands of rich colours, with deep metallic greens, touches of sea blues and a rich orange red centre. Around the middle band I've put some aventurine sparkles to catch the light and make it even more bling!
The glass I have used is borosilicate glass (commonally known by the 'Pyrex' tradename), which produces deep and dramatic colours that tend to shift and change with the ambient light, and is particularly rich in natural light.
The head of the razor takes standard twin blade cartridges (not Mach3 though) and the whole razor can be carefully unscrewed for easy cleaning and maintenance. This will probably be the last of the twin cartridge versions I will have, so to make it even more special I've added an extra finial at the end which adds a sturdy counter weight to the end, and making this razor over 140mm long including the cartridge!
I formed the handle by melting glass directly inside a superhot oxygen/propane flame, then annealed it in a microprocessor controlled kiln to improve toughness. However it is glass so should be treated with care, and then it will last a lifetime.
The glass is entirely hand formed so no two handles will ever be the same!
