This is something a little special and unique. The entire handle of this razor I have formed from solid glass, and completely freeform, so it is a real one-off!
The glass I have used is borosilicate glass, more commonly known by the 'Pyrex' trade name, and into clear glass I've mixed in blues, greens, ambers and creams to give wisps of colour to give the feel of the sea. Borosilicate colour acts strangely, and seemed to change depending on the ambient light too!
At the razor end I've used a dense mix of blues which hide an internal metal thread onto which screws a Mach3 razor head. It takes standard Mach3 triple blade cartridges. I understand it will also fit Venus cartridges too if you would prefer it as a ladies razor instead!
The glass has been fully annealed inside a microprocessor controlled kiln to improve toughness, but it is glass and should be treated with care, then it will last a lifetime.
As it is free formed while molten it makes an entirely organic shape, so there are a few bubbles inside the glass and it is not 100% square as I intended it to have a more natural flowing shape. The glass was hand formed by me in my workshop by melting glass directly inside an oxygen/propane flame in a process called lampworking. The glass handle part is about 112mm long, and including razor cartridge is just under 150mm long (just under 6inches.)
