Tomos – Handmade Welsh Coal Miner Ceramic Figurine

Meet Tomos, a young Welsh coal miner, lovingly handbuilt from clay by Alf Ceramics. Tomos represents the younger generation of miners who once headed underground to work in the Welsh coalfields. With his traditional miner's helmet and bright yellow lamp, dark work clothes and trusty pickaxe held firmly in his hands, he is ready for a hard day's work down the pit! His characterful face and slightly surprised expression give him a wonderful personality. Although younger than his fellow miner Dai, Tomos is ready to make his mark and become part of Wales's proud mining heritage. Handbuilt and individually glazed by hand, Tomos is a unique little character. His handmade details and individual expression make him a special piece of pottery celebrating the people behind Wales's industrial history. Tomos would make a thoughtful gift for anyone with a connection to the Welsh coalfields, a former miner, or someone whose family history is rooted in the mining communities of South Wales. He would also make a lovely companion to Dai, the older, experienced miner, if you'd like to create a little collection celebrating Welsh mining life.
