Contact us through Folksy for more information. Meet Dai, an older, experienced Welsh coal miner, lovingly handbuilt from clay by Alf Ceramics. Dai is a character who tells a story of Wales's proud mining heritage. With his traditional miner's helmet, complete with its yellow lamp, his dark work clothes and his trusty pickaxe, he represents the generations of hardworking miners who spent their lives working deep underground in the Welsh coal mines. His weathered face gives him the look of a seasoned miner who has seen it all! There's plenty of character in this little fellow, and you can almost imagine him sharing a tale or two about his years down the pit. As a handbuilt ceramic character, Dai has been individually shaped, decorated and glazed by hand. His unique features and little handmade details make him a one-of-a-kind piece, celebrating an important part of Welsh industrial history. Dai would make a meaningful gift for anyone with connections to the Welsh mining communities, a lovely keepsake for someone whose family worked in the mines, or a special addition to a collection of Welsh memorabilia and quirky handmade pottery.
