About this item
This card is a reproduction of one of my original colour pencil drawings. When I bought an artichoke from the fruit and veg stall in the weekly market I had no idea of how to prepare it. What attracted me was its sculptural form and its deep shades of green and purple. Each petal shaped bract is shaped like no other plant - curving over like claws to protect the centre. It seemed to me like a fantastic jigsaw puzzle made by nature and generously given to us to grow in our garden vegetable plots or allotments. The original drawing of this artichoke is one of my own favourites. It has been to several exhibitions and I was quite happy to welcome it home and hang it on my own wall. The card measures 15cm x 15cm (6" x 6") and is blank inside for your own message. Printed by a specialist printing company on 300gsm card with a fine satin finish, each card comes complete with envelope and packaged in a protective cellophane wrapper. Please note: actual colours may be slightly different from how they appear on your screen due to individual screen settings. Thank you for visiting Helen Clifford Art.
