Full description
I have made this copper hare box using traditional tools to pierce out shapes with my jewellers saw, soldering, filing and adding detail with metal punches and my pendant motor. The box has an oxidised finish. The base features three hares and the main hare on the lid is detailed on both sides with the addition of little garnet cabochons for eyes. It is decorated with amber beads. Inside the base I have soldered a star made from gilding metal.
I finish copper pieces with a coat of renaissance wax to help protect the finish, however copper will over time tarnish and develop its own patina. You may wish to gently buff with renaissance wax and a soft cloth to refresh your piece.
Measuring approx:
Base 49mm across / internal diameter 31mm / 18mm height.
Total height including lid 90mm (hare on lid measures approx 90 mm across).
