Handmade Recycled Oak Trinket Box

Approximate Dimensions: 280x160x120mm Made from recycled solid oak planks, approximately 14mm in thickness. The colour comes from a process called ebonising, which uses household ingredients to cause a reaction in the tannins naturally present in the wood. This box has been very lightly treated just to give it a slight variation in colour. Constructed using traditional hand tools and processes, including half-blind dovetail joints. The lower section of the box is fully cushioned and lined, the upper section has a simple panel inserted. Fitted with decorative hinges and hasp/latch, both in the pattern of a butterfly. You can see that some of the wood has various marks & features, which I've decided to leave as part of the story of the recycled wood. This box is available from stock, but I also offer a bespoke service which can be customised in various ways - personalisation with a name or initials etched in, different finishes from wax, to finishing oil and varnish. You can also change the internal colour of the lining. Bespoke boxes need two to three weeks to complete and ship. Feel free to ask questions.
