I had seen an article on using pyrography to create images on wood and tried this on pdf. I love this image and it was from birds I saw on the ice on a local reservoir.

Full description
Unique image on Mdf created with pyrography on the board and then coloured with watercolour. The pyrography creates a texture on the board and provides the dark tones.
The entire image is varnished with a matt varnish to protect the colours and seal the board.
The board has a hanger on the back and the image has the advantage of not needing a frame.
