Making fishing flies is an art in itself! These are a selection belonging to a friend of mine. I took photos of them but had to magnify them to see all the tiny details. The colours are all accurate (and what beautiful colours they are!) but as I often do I've used a bit of artistic licence and added my own style. It was fun to do something different and have an excuse to go crazy with 'Opera Pink' and 'Moonglow' watercolours! I think they all look very theatrical, like they are all about to go on stage. So beautiful but deadly they are, a bit like mermaids to sailors!
