Hand-knotted limpet shell necklace. Created using brown linen thread, faceted crystal rondelle beads and a limpet shell. A smoothly textured limpet shell, in shades of soft yellow with flecks of brown and white, a hint of grey…tones which I’ve echoed with glinting crystal beads: pale muted grey, soft aqua greens and teal and pearly white. The necklace measures 22 inches long, with a 2 inch stainless steel extension chain, and a tiny Tibetan silver charm at the end. The limpet shell is 4cm long and 3cm wide. Shell symbolises the 17th wedding anniversary, so this could be the perfect gift for your loved one. Crystal symbolises the 3rd wedding anniversary. It will be carefully packaged in a recycled cardboard jewellery box. Sent via Royal Mail, second class.

☆ all the seaglass and pebbles you see in my work has been used as found. Decades of rolling about in the sea has worked its beautiful magic. ☆ your item will be posted using recycled packaging, which isn't incredibly attractive, but it serves its purpose. And anyway, it's what's inside that counts. : )

I just love limpets. I find many types, textures, colours and sizes. Limpets tend to live on the same bit of rock all their lives, only leaving, to do whatever limpets do, once the tide covers them. They then return to their bit of rock once the tide starts to retreat. Limpets are cool.
