The outer, padded case contains a removable stiffened insert with fabric loops to hold, separate and protect the pens. Each case is made from 25 pieces of fabric. All visible fabrics are 100% cotton. Three types of interlining provide cushioning, support and stability. The pen slots are 10 cm long so give excellent protection and will house all but the chunkiest of pens, while the tuck-under outer flap adjusts to accommodate extra-long pens. There is space behind the insert in which to tuck a note of pens and inks, plus a small slim notebook (such as the Lamy A6 soft cover booklet, available from Cult Pens). Only a very limited number of each case will be made. As a guide, the pens pictured here are: a Platinum Century 3776, Platinum Plaisir, Sailor Shikiori Tsukuyo-No-Minamo, Jinhao Centennial 100, Kaweco Skyline Sport and a Moonman M8. Case dimensions, approx: Height: 17.5 cm. Width: 14.3 cm. Depth: 2 cm. Pen slots: Length: 10 cm. Can house pens up to 17 mm cap diameter. What’s in the box: One case plus two Inkventory cards. Pens and notebook are NOT included. P & P: Pen cases will be wrapped in tissue paper and posted in a ColomPac planet-friendly, climate neutral box. I am old enough to remember the days when children used dip pens and fountain pens in school. I had my first fountain pen at the age of 11. Then came the ballpoint pen, and fountain pens fell out of favour. Some years later, tired of disposable ballpoints, I bought an inexpensive, beautiful fountain pen and rediscovered the joy of writing with a well-designed nib and gorgeous inks. Dismayed at the thought of millions of disposable plastic pens going into landfill, I started collecting vintage fountain pens - both beautiful and a joy to use. As my little collection grew I needed something to store my treasures in, but couldn’t find anything I liked that wasn’t made abroad and incurred prohibitive postage charges. So, I decided to design and make some cases and, through trial and error, I ended up with the current case, which is perfect for my needs: lightweight, protective, attractive, and a fitting home for my pens. I hope you will like it, too.
