In winter flocks of redwing can be found flitting about looking for berries and brightening up grey days! This original drypoint print is inspired by spotting them flocking over the fields and hedges near my home and the excitement of catching that flash of colour under their wing that gives them their name. The drypoint printing technique allows me to create a series of prints that keep the spontaneous, free marks of a drawing. I've used two different inks for this print, a beautiful brown as the main colour and a warm red for the underwing. This is an edition of 12 prints; each one is slightly different due to the nature of the process. Each print is mounted in an acid free mount and can be popped straight into a frame. The picture measures around 19 x 14 cm and the mount is 25 x 20 cm. It will arrive with you in a cello bag to keep it fresh.
