About this item
A beautifully tactile small crocheted ammonite in light grey, made with a high quality T-shirt yarn, containing 80% recycled cotton. The basket is flexible but keeps its shape and the yarn gives great definition to the crochet stitches used to create it. It would look equally good on display by itself as a feature in a room, or as a container for a small houseplant, or as useful storage in the bathroom or bedroom. The pattern describes it as an ammonite but it is also the shape of a nautilus shell so would fit in well with a seaside theme. Measurements: Approximately 18cm tall at its highest point, 23cm in length, and 14cm across at its widest point. I also make similar and smaller versions of this basket, from braided cord, see separate listings. Care instructions: I recommend a gentle surface clean with a damp cloth to remove dust but item may be carefully washed by hand at 30C, reshape whilst damp. Do not bleach; Do not iron; Do not tumble dry.

T-shirt yarn is lovely to work with, a bit easier to crochet than macrame cord as its more flexible. It's perfect for making smaller baskets and bowls and comes in a great range of colours. Pattern is by Rebecca Johnson, published in Mollie Makes magazine, July 2021.

These are lovely, well made and gorgeous colours. The larger one is great to hold a small plant pot and the smaller basket holds trinkets or in my case a couple of USB cables!! Bought 2 itemsThis a is a lovely small basket that I have in my bathroom with cotton wool balls in it so having a lid keeps them clean. Really nice neutral colour too so would fit anywhere.
