Made With Mud Aurora Borealis mug
This piece has been thrown on the wheel using stoneware clay. Stoneware is a more resilient hard wearing clay, better suited to functional pottery.
The mug is thrown on the wheel, trimmed, handled added and hand carved. It is then slowly dried before firing, glazed then fired again to over 1200c.
This piece has been carved to simulate mountains and pine trees. Then the glaze has been added in such a way to look like the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. Creating a beautiful mountain scene that you can gaze at every time you take 5 for a drink.
Height - approx 12 cm tall
Volume - approx 435ml or 15 3/8 fl oz to the brim
All glazes are food, dishwasher and microwave safe.
Just remember although safe, dishwashers can be brutal places for pottery.
If you notice the outside of the mug becoming extremely hot after being heated in the microwave, I do not advise you continue heating the mug in the microwave.
If multiple items are purchased at the same time I will combine where possible and ensure any excessive postage is refunded.
