I am exploring new directions in textile art, among them the use of curves and the interplay of colour, pattern and texture, and the incorporation of hand painted and dyed fabric plus embroidery.

Wall hanging / table centre. Size: approx 29” (74 cm) square.
There is a hanging sleeve stitched below the upper edge of the back through which a narrow rod can be inserted for hanging.
I was experimenting with curves and combining patterns to make four blocks, which can then be arranged in a variety of ways. The fabric pieces are joined with hand made bias binding of varying widths. The curved lines are very much a progression from my drawings and love of stripes.
The fabrics used are all 100% cotton, with the exception of the internal wadding, which is 80% cotton & 20% polyester.
This piece can be machine washed at 30 deg and spun dry at 800 rpm. It should be dried either flat or supported over something like a stair bannister, end eased into shape if necessary. Please do not tumble dry or iron.
We do have dogs in the house but this piece has been washed and is stored in a crate with a well-fitted lid.
