Description

Individually hand painted in a geometric design, each plate represents a well loved house plant. A row of 3D coloured dots around the rim adds the final flourish. The botanical Latin plant name is handwritten around the edge as a nod to Darwin’s style of recording plants. Each plate has been painted using a wide range of realistic green tones of underglaze before being dipped in a clear glossy transparent glaze and kiln fired. After firing the plates are both food and dishwasher safe. Each plate is approximately 11.5cm in diameter. Due to the hand painted nature of the design no two are ever the same Please note the price listed is for a single plate. If you’d like to purchase a set of 4 or 6 9 plates this option is available in the drop down menu. Please specify the plants you’d like in your set as you order, thank you These botanical designs are also available as coasters. A note from the seller

Welcome to my Folksy shop, Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope a little virtual visit will raise a smile. All orders are sent via 1st Class Royal Mail standard service. The postage costs applied reflect the protective packaging used to ensure your Utterly Pottery goodies arrive in tip top condition. Therefore, should you place an order rest assured, it will arrive beautifully wrapped and protected topped off with colourful tissue paper. If you prefer a 2nd class service to save costs, pop me a message and I can adjust this for you. Where possible I reuse and recycle plastic bubble wrap as I find it offers the best protection for my handmade and handpainted ceramics. I’m always happy to add a handwritten gift note if you’d like to send the order directly to the recipient. Please include the message as you check out. Many Thanks, Lucy

Read the Folksy Returns Policy.

The lockdown periods of 2020-2021 meant a lot more time spent at home. A slight obsession with house plants began as I tried to bring more of the natural world inside my home. An observation of the colour and form of house plant leaves in combination with my love of geometrical patterns led to this new range of botanical designs.

This handmade flax flower brooch is a true delight. The design is beautifully elegant and refined, and the craftsmanship is clearly of very high quality. I ordered it as a Secret Santa gift for an elegant colleague, and she absolutely loved it. It’s rare to find such a sophisticated and thoughtfully made piece truly a wonderful find.
