My books are made from reclaimed items that would often end up in landfill. This leather came from the side panel of Mr. Ray's reclining leather chair, the paler stripe on the back is where the chair has been used over time and reminded me of the paintings be American Abstract Artist, Mark Rothko. It is a really sturdy little book and is built to withstand much use - ideal for a book that is carried around to jot ideas and notes in.
What buyers say about Cath Ray Books
All 7 reviews
Excellent hand-made, leather-bound book. This will make a very special present for my husband who has used Cath Ray’s books in the past to take notes on his trees - he owns a horticultural business. The book is attractive, tactile and robust. Very happy to support a talented local maker and artist.
I love Cath’s Books. She tries to provide what you want, and her choices of leathers and textures and stitching are creative whilst also being sound. Really good value for what is a work of art.
I have two Cath Ray books, both beautiful, this recent one is no exception. They are things to be treasured. Cath is refilling my first one with new paper as I couldn’t bear to not be able to use it Once I’d filled it!
