The dark brown leather came from a pub re-fit and really, really smelled of old smokey buildings, which has gradually worn off since the book was made. If you open it up and really, deeply inhale you can just about detect it (WHY would anyone want to?) (I just have!). The dark brown leather shines burgundy on one corner and on the back has a tiny embossed circle from one of the brass upholstery tacks that would have kept the leather in place. Not only is the book unique, it is the very last piece of this leather I have in the workshop!

Full description
Small Coptic-bound leather notebook. The pages are 130g/m2 Ursus ivory coloured paper, acid-free & non-chlorine bleached. Coptic binding is the oldest form of binding that survives today with examples still in existence that are over 1,000 years old. it is very simple, strong and involves no glue at all. The book is sewn with Ritza Italian saddlery thread, which is woven polyester and is incredibly hard-wearing and will not rot over time. The endpapers are Cole & Son 'Manhattan' wallpaper, and the notebook measures 13cm x 8cm and is 2cm thick. The book is unique, numbered (2,108) and signed, and comes in its own hand-made gift box.
