About this item
This cat is hand made and measures 11cm high and 5.5cm wide. It is made from white earthenware clay and carved before being fired in an electric kiln, I then paint on 4 layers of raku glaze, which when dry is wiped back leaving the glaze only in the carved indents, it is then fired again in a gas kiln, then at a 1,000 degrees it is taken out and smoked in a container with sawdust, this makes any unglazed part of the bird a black/grey colour. It has been polished with bees wax.
