I had had this sandy leather for quite a while. It is quite old & came to me from a leather worker who had retired. It was a big piece and I didn't quite know what to do with it until I got hold of the beautiful 'Oceana' coral-patterned paper by Jane Churchill and I knew they would make a lovely large sketchbook together! It is satisfyingly heavy and has a nice feel to it as you leaf through and makes a lovely noise when it flops shut.

Full description
Large leather sketchbook with thick cartridge paper suitable for all dry media and drawing inks & light washes. It is portrait format and opens fully flat for ease of working. The pages are sewn directly to the leather spine not to each other, which leaves a bit of room for sitcking things in, collage work, or just slipping interesting things inbetween the pages without bursting the spine. The sketchbook measures 22 x 31 x 4cm. The paper is 180g/m2 white cartridge with a slight texture to it, so perfect for charcoal and soft pencil, but smooth enough to be written on with a nib. Sewn with cream wool and designed to be robust. It is unique, signed and numbered (no. 2,142) and comes in its own hand-made gift box.
