Hello and welcome to my Folksy shop! I've been making for others since 2013 and if you'd like to see what my customers have said about my work since then (before I opened up here on Folksy), you can read more than 1,000 reviews on my web site: http://www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk/ (click 'Reviews' on the bar at the top of the page).
In addition to the UK, I'm happy to ship most items to the US, Canada, Japan and Australia - just message me for a shipping quotation if a shipping price isn't shown against an item you're interested in. Please note that all US shipping prices shown DO NOT include tracking. If you'd like your package sent with tracking, please message me for a quotation.
Many of the pieces I make are made to order and the shipping time is a 'worse case scenario' estimate - I will often make and send items quicker than indicated, although things do sometimes slow down at busy times. If you want something urgently, just message me and I'll confirm if I can meet your deadline. Some items over £30 are posted via the 'Tracked 24' Royal Mail service automatically, but if you'd like to make sure you have this on your order, just message me.
I'm more active on Instagram than anywhere else: https://www.instagram.com/the_crimson_rabbit/ but you can always find me online elsewhere: my blog is here: www.thecrimsonrabbit.co.uk, my facebook page here: www.facebook.com/thecrimsonrabbitpage and my Pinterest addiction is evidenced here: http://www.pinterest.com/crimsonrabbit/

This cowl was born from my love of reversible cowls and scarves, and textural stitch patterns that add interest, but aren't overly complicated or too time consuming. I think it'd be perfect for a knitter who wants to try out circular knitting for the first time.
My original cowl, made with Malabrigos Worsted merino yarn, was satisfyingly quick to knit and I found the stitch pattern was one I could happily knit while watching television. I then had a fancy for a larger, natural coloured cowl, so made another version with undyed baby alpaca. The fine halo that alpaca yarn creates, adds a soft-focus effect, which suits the stitch pattern perfectly. I wondered how the stitch pattern would look in a finer gauge, so chose to make the supersized version in a DK weight yarn, which did take quite a bit longer to knit!
Just after publishing this pattern for the first time, I made a third version and loved the results so much that I had to add it!
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Please note - this listing is for a hand knitting pattern, not a finished item. You will receive a PDF file with full written instructions (English only, no chart) on how to knit this cowl in 3 different options. The file includes photographs of the finished cowls and the pattern booklet is arranged so that you only need to print the option you wish to knit. I'll email the pattern to the email address you use for your purchase within 1 working day.
You can, of course, choose to make any of these cowls in whatever yarn you choose of the same weights. Do bear in mind though that the nature and colour of the yarn you choose will impact the look of the final piece.
Skills you need to know to knit this pattern: long tail cast on, how to work in the round, how to knit and purl and how to work a regular cast off. You can knit the smallest option with just 2 skeins of Malabrigo Worsted or an equivalent subsititute yarn of your choice. The larger version uses 3 skeins and the DK version uses 3 100g skeins of baby alpaca.
See the 'Inspiration' section for more info and message me if you have any questions.
