Full description
This bird measures 6cm high, 9cm long and 4.5cm wide. To make it I first modelled a shape then made a mould from it. I then cast it with white earthenware clay and fire it to 1040 degrees. After firing I paint a low firing red glaze on the breast, it is then fired in a gas kiln and raku fired. The black unglazed part is a result of being smoked in a reduction chamber and is polished with beeswax.
