Full description
This Beaded Beasties dragonfly is set in a natural wood box frame and captures a moment in nature on a beautiful summer's evening. The dragonfly is made up from a combination of new and recycled glass, acrylic and ceramic beads in shades of amber, topaz and gold strung on gold-plated wire. Its wings are made from acetate with a printed vein pattern.
A natural pebble has been used along with raffia, leather cord and antiqued bead caps to create a miniature reed bed. The impression of a sun is made from a disc of gold-coloured gauze with a large golden washer bead. It is all arranged on a printed watercolour-effect background paper in peach shades.
The front of the box frame is 19.5cm (7 3/4 ins) square and the recessed rear is 18.3cm square. The frame is 33mm deep and it has a hanging hook on the back. This is another unique creation.
