Full description
I have hand made this box using best quality plywood and decorated it using traditional marquetry techniques.
The box is veneered all round with cherry wood with sycamore and burr walnut used to create the sky and tree design. All the veneers are hand cut with a scalpel and carefully fitted together to create a truly unique and eye-catching design.
The lid is fitted using solid brass hinges housed into the box (not surface mounted) and secured with a good quality brass catch. Inside the base of the box is lined with soft black baize.
The surface is finished with shellac and wax polish to create a super smooth non-reflective sheen.
