Full description
I've designed and hand embroidered this piece of hoop art using my own sketch of our cat, Suzy.
I've always loved the way cats just sit and watch, or drape themselves lazily across sofas and chairs (usually in a sunny spot!) and they make wonderful subjects for art of any medium. Embroidery is very tactile. though, and lends itself particularly well to this subject.
I've handpainted the backing fabric (calico) in a very subtle shade of pink which gives the piece a more interesting background.
The hoop measures 4 inches across and is ready to hang on a wall - just use a piece of ribbon or twine. This size of hoop also looks great simply propped up on a shelf.
