Full description
I made this box from solid re-cycled mahogany with inset hinges and corner mitre joints. I then veneered it all round with burr maple and added a simple decorative marquetry top using burr maple, walnut and rosewood. I think the figure of the veneers produces a unique and very attractive lid.
I have added red baize to the inside and felt tabs to the base.
I have used polyurethane varnish as a surface finish and then wax polish to produce a semi-matt surface.
