Valentine's Day Early Warning. I'll be taking a couple of weeks of Me time from 5th Feb so please order early. xx
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A design for spring. I've 'painted' a picture in glass of two bright red tulips with strappy shiny green leaves. I've framed my picture with clear, lightly textured glass and left the flower set into the frame in places to gives a 3-dimensional illusion.
I've left the spaces between the edges of the flower and the frame blank for extra effect.
I am exceedingly pleased with this piece. It's been a lovely day today and it was a pleasure to photograph it with a blue sky and the sun shining through it.
It also looks very effective as a picture on the wall as an alternative to hanging in the light in a window.
I've added twisted wire round the frame to really set the picture off well and give added strength.
The suncatcher is 14cm wide and 16 cm high and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
This will make a wonderful present for someone or just for yourself as it is very special and absolutely unique.
I never make two pieces exactly the same. Even from the same pattern I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
The 5th photo shows the previous version so you can see they are different though to the same pattern.
A lovely present for Mother's Day or at any time for someone you love..
A perfect harbinger of Spring and a lovely present for someone you love
