The map draws on some vintage Victorian inspiration, from a time when the Thames really was London's gateway to the world. As with so many illustrations from that time, this one tries to celebrate both the marvels of the natural environment (exotic ones like the pineapples we'd import on ships, and native ones like, err, reeds!) as well as the marvels of the built environment (such as, well, bridges). The river gives us opportunity to celebrate both something ancient and natural to London, as well as that big huge world it opens up into.

This illustrated map of the Thames includes all the traversable bridges within the M25.

This limited edition, signed A4 print provides a whole new perspective on the heart of the city - and for pub quiz lovers, hopefully it'll help you memorise the order of all the bridges from Kingston to Tower as well!
