Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
I'm a Canadian in London, and I am a cartophile.
When I first walked in to Stanford's map shop in Covent Garden over ten years ago, I surprised even myself to end up walking out with one poster-sized print of the Himalayas, a world atlas, two Ordnance Surveys of places I had no intention of going and three rolls of Robinson projection wrapping paper. I paid for all of it. I was out of control.
The only sustainable way to indulge in this passion was to begin mapmaking as a hobby. I began by assembling mixed-media collages of beautifully-shaped countries and continents, then playing with different perspectives, then working them into illustrations. I now spend most mapmaking time with ink illustrations that try to accentuate natural beauty, play with alternative histories and draw on experiences of spaces and times (especially my own quadrant of London!).
Over the years, I've had map stuff featured at the Museum of London's "Hand Drawn London" display, have published other map stuff in books like Sharon Blackie's "If Women Rose Rooted" and Simon Cooper's "Life of a Chalkstream," and do a lot of my favourite map stuff right here on Folksy.
I also happen to be married to an inimitable and incredible lady who can be found making beautiful and amazing things round about here: https://folksy.com/shops/NorrisandtheFlamingo
