Full description

Here at Fabric Mountain HQ I occasionally sell small quantities of fabric which I have designed myself and had printed onto cotton. Due to high print and shipping costs (all done in USA) it is only possible to sell small pieces for craft projects.

Because the quantities are small it means you really are getting quite a unique and limited edition fabric.

This small fat quarter (53cmx45cm) is an unusual, vintage butterfly collection design. I have created this design by initially making a collage of butterflies cut from old maps and atlases. Some of the butterflies have been embellished with stitch and some have been colour enhanced digitally to make an interesting mix. The butterflies all have names, some have butterfly names like Marsh Fritillary, Red Admiral and others I have given quirky names which mean something to me. There's a Blue Stilton butterfly after my favourite cheese, a Red Cuillin after a mountain on Skye, the Blue Monday a favourite New Order song, even a Waterloo Sunset butterfly by the Kinks! etc.

This fabric would make a lovely cushion panel or some interesting little craft projects.

Photo number 2, the most distant one, shows the actual piece of fabric you receive so I hope that gives an idea of how much of the pattern repeat you get. The butterflies measure about 7cm across the widest top wingspan.

The fabric is a quilting weight 100% cotton and the design is printed with eco inks.
