Inspired by English Folk Art and the fauna associated with the English countryside, with a good bit of traditional tattoo art and mysticism thrown in! This image comes directly from a drawing in my sketchbook where I combined the stag beetle and swallow tattoo with stylised Victorian leaf patterns, feathers, and the all seeing eye. The stag beetle waits patiently for the moment it is to emerge, whilst the swallow always finds it's way back home.
